Ancient Mariner part the seventh

The first thing that happens in part the seventh of the time if the ancient Mariner is thag he is getting closer and closer to the harbour so now he can see it and there are people there wondering how did he find his way back when his compass would not work and the fact that he hasn’t got decent sails because they are so thin and easily ripable. The second thing that happened in part the seventh is that as he was about to get to the harbout and then the noise under the boat started to sound like dread and he fell out of the boat, but floated like a dead body. At this point I started to think that he is actually dead and he has turned into one of the angels that the dead bodies were. The third thing that happened was that a person rowed into the water and took him out to find he was alive by speaking and it gave him an  awful fright when he realized he was dead. The fourth thing that happened is he got to land and  he had an agonizing pain but once he re told the Storey the pain went. The final thing that happened in the poem was that I’m the months and months of him talking in the story the final part of the poem was that it all took place on the space of 2 minutes.

Ancient Mariner part the sixth summary

The first thing that happened in part the sixth is that it seems there is someone or something looking over the ocean and on the Mariner and that ‘thing’ is causing grievous all of the mysterious things to happen to him. The second thing that happens in part the sixth is that he has woken up to something amazing. These things are that it was a gentle weather, the dead men are standing together and the ship is being propelled along by something underneath the water. This amazes me because so far in the poem if anything good happens, then it is soon followed by something bad, however it seems like this isn’t going to happen. The third thing that happens in this part is that lots of time has passed and nothing has happened so Coleridge is starting to show that the Mariner’s bad luck could be well and truely over. I think that he has chosen a great time for that to happen because I as the reader am starting to feel sorry for the Mariner since all of these bad things have happened and it makes me feel sympathetic. The fourth thing that happened is that whilst this good luck spree has being going on he has started to see the most satisfying thing he will probably ever see. His country. At this point in the poem I feel more than ecstatic for the Marinier because i know now that he has gone through enough pain out at sea and so by finding his land without a compass I feel very happy for the Mariner. The final thing that happened in part the sixth is that gen find out the dead men that were on the boat were actually angels and they were the cause of him getting home safely and pretty much unharmed. As well as this, he feels he can ask for forgiveness and will hopefully get what he is asking for.

Time of the ancient mariner part the fifth summary

The first key thing that happens in part the fifth is that he woke up on the boat and he saw that the sail was flapping. This meant two different things. One, that there was wind for the first time and two, that the boat would soon start moving again. This is amazing because at this point he has been in a way tortured on this expedition, yet now he has just blessed the water snakes showing that he can pray again and now there is wind in the area that is soon push him along the water.

The second thing that happened is that as if the curse has finally passed, a cloud has started to follow the boat and is only moving in the direction the boat is going. I find this weird because the cloud is directly above them and it is only going towards him and the boat nothing else. I know this because in the poem there is a quote saying’ the Lightning fell with never a jag’ which shows me that he Lightning has gone in a straight line and gone directly towards where the Mariners is. I have a feeling that Samuel Taylor Coleridge is trying to make you sympathise on the Mariner. I am led to believe this because all of these bad things have been happening to the Mariner and as soon as things look to have been looking better this happens. It makes me think that whoever is doing is to him feels he never deserves to be forgiven or even try to be better in order to make him a better person.

The third key thing that happened is that the people who were dead but not really dead got up and started helping the mariner with the sailing but every on of them were still watching them. Then they all dropped and the spirits left there bodies but in the form of sound. The part I am most curious about is once the spirits leave. This is because they somehow must have managed to get in the body before they all raised and helped but made no noise. Another reason I am curious about this is because when they left and started making sounds, it must have felt very upsetting in a way because it was almost that he had people to collaborate with for a while but then they left and were just hovering above him making noise however invisible.

The fourth key thing that happened in part the fifth is that the boat was just sailing but then it started to rock forwards, backwards, left and right but then suddenly it seemed as though to do a huge leap and went crashing onto the water knocking the mariner out. I feel this happened because the thing that has been doing all of this must have just thought to make his life even worse and started making the boat move and finally take one big movement forward that would knock him out and would leave him unconscious. The fifth key thing that happened is that two voices lurked above him talking about him. This was once he had regained consciousness. They were talking about him. I know this because in the poem it says’ is this the man implying  tthat they could see him and were talking about him. What I find the weirdest about this is that they can see him but he can’t see them making it seem as though these two voices are the two that have been causing the ancient mariner all of this misfortune. Are they? I will find out soon

Lines for poetry by heart badge:

I am going to recite the first three stanza’s of the poem in order to achieve the badge. I wish to attempt the badge on Friday but if there isn’t time that is fine since last period was mainly checking for home work.

Christopher Pike Master Of Murder

I have recently just finished a book called Christopher Pike Master Of Murder. It is a great book about a 17 year old boy who is also America’s number 1 author. His girlfriend Shelly Quade is reading his hit series but no one knows who the real author is. One year ago a boy called Harry Paster jumped off of the bridge and died when landing into the lake, or did he. Who killed Harry if he was killed? Why had they done if so? Why would he commit suicide if he did? To read more buy the book or if you are in the school I go to you could get it from the library. I picked up the book and within a few days I was nearly halfway in. It’s a very addictive book. In my opinion, if you haven’t read one of the Christopher pike books then you haven’t read a good book. I urge you to read this book because it is short- only 180 or so pages- and you will love it.

Rime of the ancient mariner part the fourth summary

In part the fourth the first thing that happens is actually not in the real story but back to the Mariner telling the story. The first point that happens is when the wedding guest is watching and listening to the mariner telling his story but it is making him feel uncomfortable because of the very strange events that have already took place. I think this because in the poem it says ‘ I fear thee, ancient Mariner! I fear thy skinny hand’ which makes me think that he is almost wanting to get away yet something is almost stopping him.
The second key event that took place was the fact that everyone around him was dead on the ship but creatures lurked in the water. Then he tried to pray but it was as though they were not letting him. I think this because in the poem which reads ‘I looked to heaven, and tried to pray: but or ever a prayer had gusht, a wicked whisper came, and made, my heart as dry as dust’. This made me think that it was like they weren’t letting him pray and the whispers could be saying something like “look what you have done you nasty human being. We shall not allow you to pray at your time of need.” This thought made me think what if the woman that looked like death has cursed him and he can’t get anything he wants for al, of the sins he has committed on this journey into unknown territory.
The third key event in part the fourth is that the bodies lying dead on the floor aren’t exactly dead. Although the souls have left the body it seems that they are almost like zombies. There are many reasons I think they are almost like zombies. For one, when a body dies it begins to rot and starts to smell. However in this poem neither of these have happened they are just lying there doing nothing. Another reason that I think they are almost like zombies is because they can’t actually get up and walk, well not as far as I have read anyway, however as the mariner walked along the boat every single pair of eyes on the boat followed him. If he moved to the right then all of the dead men’s eyes would follow. To back up this there is a stanza in the poem that says ‘The cold sweat melted from their limbs, nor reek or rot did they: the look with which they looked on me, had never passed away’. Because of this I predict that in the parts that are soon to follow the bodies will start being able to move and haunt him in someways or another This could be by the lady looking like death putting them in hid dreams or the bodies just being able to slowly get up and do something to him physically.
The fourth key thing that has happened in this poem is that he saw some water snakes lurking around the boat and he has giving them a blessing. I know this because in the poem it says ‘And I blessed them unaware’. This is very surprising because earlier in part the fourth, he tried to pray but the world just didn’t let him, however somehow he has blessed the water snakes that he is watching. I think that the Mariner might be only allowed to pray thing good in others because if he realises that he has blessed them and then tries to pray, I predict that whoever or whatever is not allowing him to pray is going to do it again.
The fifth thing that has happened is not actually in the poem, but something I have been starting to think is getting increasing more true. I think there is something the mariner can do with his eyes that makes things happen to others. Even from part the first there are things to support for example ‘he can not chuse but hear’ which I think can show that he has sort of hypnotised the wedding guest into listening to his story. Another example of this is towards the end of part the third when the 50 men all start dropping dead. Before they drop dead, each one of them look the mariner in the eye. When that was made maybe the eye contact between them and the mariner with his eyes could have killed them for giving him the look. I’m not exactly sure if this is true but I have a feeling it is along the lines of the mariner having a supernatural power. The metaphor I have located is ‘ a spring of love gushed from my heart’. I think it is trying to say he suddenly fell in love with the water snakes. I think this because he blessed them and saying that a spring of love came made me think that he suddenly fell in love with the water snakes.

Perfect paragraph attempt 1

Sprinting down the road, he desperately tried to keep running through the agony. After another few hundred meters he dared to stop and brought up the courage to look down. It was worse than he thought. Blood was seeping out like pouring milk into cereal. He cried out for help. Approaching him a black blur faced him. What at first seemed to be a hand looked a whole lot different a few seconds later. A huge bang rung his ears. The world went quiet. The world went black.

Part the third summary

The first point I am going to write about is that the Mariner is stuck in the middle of an unknown area and now that they are stuck, the Mariner is forced to suck his own blood to stay alive. Secondly, when all hope is lost, they see a boat in the distance but it has women and another figure that looks like death. Thirdly, she says I have won and then it suddenly goes dark while the boat vanishes. Then finally, something weird goes around the sheep that crew on the ship are dropping dead on the ship but it hasn’t yet happened to the Mariner. The metaphor I am going to talk about is ‘Fear at my heart, as at a cup, My life blood seemed to slip. I think this is saying like he is not actually drinking but it is like he is drinking his own despair.

Wonder

I have a few minutes to spare so I thought why not post something to make sure I completely understand what I am doing. I am reading a new book called Wonder. So far- even though I have only read 21 pages-  it is very good. The book is about a boy named August who hates his face and has had many surgeries on it. He is 10 and is going to school for the first time. He is unsure but likes the teachers and decides to go. This is a book by R.J Palacio and I strongly recommend it even though I have hardly read it.

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Summary

I think the first thing that happened was that the mariner came to land and a wedding guest is forced to listen to what he has to say. Next a came a huge storm and an albatross appeared. It seems that it was giving them good luck. The third big point was that the Mariner shit the albatross with a crossbow. The fourth thing is that all the good things that happened began to stop. Fifth, the wind stopped completely and the boat wasn’t stuck in an ocean on man knew existed. They had a small food and water supply and started to hilusinate. Finally they were at the point that they couldn’t even talk but the Mariner carried the dead bird on a necklace.
